About Me

I have always loved books. They give people the chance to explore new and creative realms that stimulate the senses and send your imagination soaring . They're a place to connect with a range of emotions and ideas and learn more about the world and yourself as you turn each page. Books provide a new perception, a fresh interpretation of the world, a chance to step out of your own experience and into someone else's.

For these reasons, among many others, I wanted to share my thoughts on what I've read and provide reviews and ratings that I hope you'll find useful.

This blog is for literary lovers and those that want to rediscover a passion for the world of literature. As well of course for people to quip at all the literary related quotes, links, ideas and works I blog about!

I'm also (dare I say) a wannabe writer. My dream is to become a published author and I am currently working on my first novel (eek!) I like to write poetry from time to time so if you're lucky, on occasion, you may find a snippet of my own writing or a poem I've written pop up on this page...so watch this space!

I hope you'll enjoy reading my blog as much as I will enjoy writing it x

Forget-Me-Not.

This dark empty void is sitting numb in the air,
Will it fill, Will it stay?
Clouding over every day.

As I sit and I stare,
Dare to think and to contemplate,
My heart feels an ache,
And I dream of an easier way.

Will it be tomorrow or today?
Or was it only yesterday?

Such joy now erased,
such times now forgot,
What's left is just hollow,
But sitting there,
Is a forget-me-not.

Free Bird.

For when you leave you must have a book,
what's inside that book?
Well take a look!
A poem of course!
What else would it be.
Like the one you wrote, but this is from me.

All the sights and the smells that will arouse your senses,
travelling will open your world and knock down all your fences.

The memories you'll make and the people you'll meet,
will nourish your soul and forever feel sweet.

Rediscover yourself and move away from the heard.
Breathe in, embrace all, and you'll find your hummingbird.

You were made to be free, my incredible friend.
So go forth, and take flight, and when you're done, I'll be here,
always, till the end.
